The newly appointed Ambassador of Slovakia to Armenia presented his credentials to President

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of Slovakia to Armenia Joseph Migacz (residence in Moscow) presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of Armenia congratulated the Ambassador on his assignment and highlighted the importance of regular contacts and active political dialogue, underlining that it would create favorable conditions for deepening cooperation in the economic and other areas.

The President of Armenia expressed gratitude to the Parliament of Slovakia for the adoption in 2004 of the resolution condemning the perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide.

Speaking about bilateral economic and trade relations, the President of Armenia and the Ambassador of Slovakia concurred that the two countries have yet much to do for their development. With this regard, they stressed the importance of expanding the relevant legal field.

Ambassador Migacz said that Armenia has always been prominent for her scientific potential and expressed his country’s interest in deepening cooperation in that area.

The two sides expressed also interest toward the format of the EU-Armenia relations and using, in particular, the opportunities offered by the Eastern Partnership program to expand the bilateral relations. They also stressed the importance of easing entry visa regime.

The newly appointed Ambassador also said that Slovakia welcomes and supports the initiative of the Armenian President aimed at the normalization of relations with Turkey. In his turn, President Sargsyan hailed Slovakia’s balanced stance on the sensitive regional issues.

Wishing Ambassador Migacz success, the President of Armenia expressed hope that he would put his knowledge and experience into further deepening relations between our two countries.
