President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the Presidential Council on Nuclear Energy Safety
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the Presidential Council on Nuclear Energy Safety Mr. Adolf Berghofer (Germany).
President Sargsyan hailed efforts of Mr. Berghofer to ensure safety of the Armenian Nuclear Power Station. He also stressed the importance of safety in the area of energy in general, and safety in nuclear energy in particular. Serzh Sargsyan also noted that attention of the international community toward the issue of nuclear safety has increased considerably and said that the Nuclear Safety Summit recently held in Washington testifies to the fact.
Adolf Berghofer praised the efforts undertaken by the Armenian government headed by the President of Armenia to support safe operation of the Armenian Nuclear Power Station.
The parties discussed issues related to further operation of the NPS and construction of a new energy block.
