The newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium presented his credentials to the President Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium Stephan De Loecker presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
President Sargsyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed hope that he would have a considerable input in the development of the Armenian-Belgian relations.
The President of Armenia noted that our country was greatly interested in deepening relations with Belgium in bilateral as well as multilateral formats. The parties stressed in particular the importance of cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership program.
The President of Armenian and the Belgian Ambassador exchanged also views regarding the regional issues. Ambassador De Loecker said that the Belgian Government welcomes steps undertaken by the Armenian President toward the normalization of the Armenian-Turkish relations and expressed its support in that difficult and complicated task.
At the request of the Belgian diplomat, President Sargsyan presented Armenia’s position regarding the current stage of the NK peace process.
Serzh Sargsyan and Stephan De Loecker discussed the upcoming visit of the President of Armenia to Brussels and expressed confidence that it would become a serious impetus for the further development of the Armenian-Belgian relations.
