The newly appointed Ambassador of Austria to Armenia presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to the Republic of Armenia Michael Postle presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia attaches great importance to the development of our relations with Austria in bilateral as well we multilateral formats and expressed hope that Ambassador Postle would contribute to that process. President Sargsyan also noted that the existing huge potential for cooperation can be utilized on bilateral level as well as in the framework of the EU programs.

The Austrian Ambassador informed that the forthcoming visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria to Armenia is aimed at the identifying new programs for cooperation, particularly in the areas of economy and culture.

President Sargsyan and Ambassador Postle exchanged views on the Armenia-Turkey relations and the NK peace process. Serzh Sargsyan welcomed the balanced position of Austria on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict resolution, noting that such an approach was very helpful for the negotiating parties.

Ambassador Postle reiterated Austria’s readiness to assist Armenia not only in the process of Eurointegration but also in the Armenian-Turkish process of normalization and the NK peace process.
