The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev will arrive to Yerevan on a state visit

Upon the invitation of President Serzh Sargsyan, on August 19 the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev accompanied by Mrs. Svetlana Medvedeva will arrive to Yerevan on a state visit.

The President of the Russian Federation will visit the Tsitsernakaberd – monument dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, and will lay a wreath at the Mets Eghern Memorial. Afterwards, a state dinner in honor of the President of the Russian Federation will be held at the Presidential Palace.

On August 20, the Presidents of Armenia and Russia will hold a private meeting, which will be followed by the negotiations with the participation of the delegations in the extended format. The parties will sign a number of treaties and agreements aimed at the enhancement and strengthening of the strategic partnership of the two states. After the signing ceremony, Presidents Sargsyan and Medvedev will give a joint press-conference at the Presidential Palace.

In the framework of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation, President Sargsyan and President Medvedev will visit Gyumri to participate at the opening ceremony of the Hill of Honor Memorial.

At the conclusion of the state visit, the President of the Russian Federation will also participate at the unofficial summit of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states to be held in Armenia on August 20-22.
