President Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Aragatsotn and Ararat marzes
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Aragatsotn and Ararat marzes.
In Aragatsotn marz the President of Armenia familiarized with the works of the Golden Grape Armas Ltd agricultural enterprise, as well as with the Company’s technical capabilities and future investment projects. One of the projects – construction of a wine and brandy producing factory, - has been launched today. President Sargsyan participated at the groundbreaking ceremony and wished the Company success in this and other projects which are aimed at the facilitation of local production and creation of jobs. It was noted that the first stage of factory construction will be completed in 2011.
During the visit, President Sargsyan was informed that Golden Grape Armas has made investments on 200 hectares of undeveloped land in Kosh community and 20 hectares of undeveloped land of Sasunik community of Aragatsotn marz, cleaning the territory off the stones, developing and using it for cultivation, as well as establishing gardens, purchasing machinery, building infrastructure and roads. The territory is supplied with electricity and has a high-tech irrigation system.
According to the leadership of the marz, problems with the selling of the produce have also been addressed; in addition, agreements have been reached to export the Company’s production to the US, Europe, Russia, Ukraine and other countries. The plans include also construction on the territory of testing rooms for the production of Golden Grape Armas. Taking into consideration increasing global demand for organic food, the Company intends to produce chemical-free, clean food and beverages.
In Ararat marz, the President of Armenia visited the totally renovated and well-equipped Ararat Medical Center, where he was briefed on the activities of the Center and observed modern facilities for medical services. It was noted that the Ararat Medical Center was renovated in the framework of the World Bank program aimed at the modernization of Armenia’s health care system and today has up-to-date surgery rooms, emergency and intensive care facilities, diagnosis services, as well as video conferencing equipment for organizing consultations with the leading clinics of Yerevan.
In Ararat marz President Sargsyan visited also Avshar wine factory which has recently increased its production capacities, built new production units and introduced new technologies. The President of Armenia toured the premises, observed the production process, was present at grape procurement, and conversed with the employees.
