President Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Grigol Vashadze who is in our country on a working visit.

Welcoming the head of Georgia’s foreign office, President Sargsyan stressed the importance of reciprocal visits and discussions on different levels which promote and deepen bilateral relations. According to the President of the Republic, Armenia is ready to undertake necessary steps to further develop relations with the neighboring state, based on historically close relations and strong friendship of the two nations.

The parties discussed the process of implementation of the agreements reached during President Sargsyan’s latest visit to Georgia. “I am confident that steadfast implementation of these agreements will deepen our relations,” the President of Armenia said.

Grigol Vashadze assured President Sargsyan that agreements reached by the Presidents of Armenia and Georgia were in the process of implementation.

At the meeting discussed were opportunities of cooperation in different areas such as infrastructure, transportation, education, tourism, customs, and others. The sides underscored the importance of cooperation, in particular, for improving services for the citizens on the checking points and introduction of the “single window” principle. The President of Armenia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia spoke also about the necessity of working together for the development and implementation of regional projects.
