The newly appointed Ambassador of the French Republic to Armenia presented his credentials to President Sargsyan

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Armenia Henri Reynaud presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan congratulated the French Ambassador and wished him success, noting that the existing high level of the Armenian-French relations presents great responsibility and the Ambassadors of the two countries have additional obligation to strengthen it even further.

The new French Ambassador noted that prerequisites for building up the bilateral relations are already in place, considerable work has already been done in every area, however it is necessary to work continuously on that solid foundation and achieve new success. He assured that during his tenure he would carry on with the high mission of further enhancing the Armenian-French relations.

The parties stressed the importance of deepening relations in the area of economy and decentralized cooperation, enforcement of interparliamentary relations, and cooperation in the framework of the international organization of Francophony. In view of a significant role and place of France in the European Union, the President of Armenia and the French Ambassador stressed the importance of cooperation of the two countries in the framework of EU as well.
