President Serzh Sargsyan visited Saranist plant
President Serzh Sargsyan visited today Saranist plant in Kotayk marz which is producing glass containers. Earlier this month, the plant launched a program aimed at the expansion of its production capacities. Construction of the up-to-date laboratories and introduction of new processing lines enabled the plant to increase the output and improve the quality of its production.
The President of the Republic toured the units of the enterprise, observed the production process, familiarized with the modernization works conducted in one year and learned about Saranist development programs.
President Sargsyan was informed that the production process encompasses all steps starting from the manufacturing of raw stuff and up to proper packaging of the final product and its shipment. According to the management of the plant, more than 4 million USD investments allowed to manufacture containers which until now have not been produced in Armenia or anywhere in the region. The program was financed through the Saranist LLT own funds and a 3 million USD loan program of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In addition, in October 2010 the plant launched production of polyethylene film which should satisfy Company’s growing demand for packaging materials.
Exports of glass containers produced by Saranist make nearly 40 percent of its total sales and are shipped to over 75 local and 25 foreign customers.
The President of Armenia was assured that Saranist Company in its future programs intends to further expand its production capacities.
