The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Latvia to Armenia presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan

The newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Armenia Gints Apals (residence in Vienna), presented today his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on his assignment, wished him active and efficient work and expressed confidence that during his tenure the Armenian-Latvian relations would continue to develop.

“Armenia and Latvia have similar approaches to many issues. My country is determined to assist Armenia in developing cooperation and implementing programs with the EU and is ready to share its more than ten-year experience in that field,” said the Ambassador of Latvia.

Ambassador Gints Apals reiterated the invitation of the President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatler’s invitation to the President of Armenia to visit Latvia in 2011. The invitation was accepted with gratitude.
