On the occasion of New Year and Christmas holidays, President Sargsyan made a traditional visit to the defense positions of our country
On the occasion of New Year and Christmas holidays, the President of Armenia, Commander-in-Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces Serzh Sargsyan made today a traditional visit to the defense positions of our country.
First, Serzh Sargsyan visited Khachik border village. He conversed with the villagers, congratulated them on the occasion of the holidays, inquired about the problems of the border village, which according to the President will continue to stay in the center of the state authorities’ attention.
The Commander-in-Chief Serzh Sargsyan visited then the defense lines and from the military positions observed the arrangement of combat duty, spoke to the servicemen, familiarized with their social and living conditions. Serzh Sargsyan handed presents to the servicemen who in the course of duty demonstrated courage, selflessness, and integrity.
The President of Armenia congratulated on the occasion of New Year and Christmas and made good wishes to all those serving in the Armenian Army and thanked them for the dedicated service. President Sargsyan said in particular, “I cordially congratulate you on the occasion of New Yerevan and in year 2011, I wish you great strength, endurance, and faith to carry on sacred duty entrusted in you. To be a soldier is the most honorable job. The soldier, who is safeguarding the borders of our Motherland, is the light of our eyes and the stronger and more resolute the soldier is, the more confident and well-organized we will be.”
During his visit to the defense lines, the President of Armenia was accompanied by the Catholicos of All Armenian Garegin II and the Minister of Defense of Armenia Seyran Ohanian.
