Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Armenia Muhammad Auad Arb al-Rahman al Hasan (residence in Moscow) presented his credential to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and expressed confidence that during his tenure relations between the two states and two friendly peoples would strengthen and develop. According to President Sargsyan, there are excellent prerequisites and solid historical base to achieve that.

“I am sure that you know of the Armenian people’s great respect for the Arab people. More than once, the Arab people support our people in difficult times. After the Genocide perpetrated in the Ottoman Turkey, the Arab people indeed received warmly a large part of our nation and created conditions for our people to preserve their national identity and develop,” said President Sargsyan.

With this regard, the Ambassador of Oman noted that Armenians are well known all over the Arab world and enjoy respect for their activities in different areas. He stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with Armenia in the areas of economy, culture and others, and establishment of the legal field for cooperation.

The parties underscored also the importance of cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
