President Sargsyan received the Speaker of the Parliament of Croatia Luka Bebic

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Speaker of the Parliament of Croatia Luka Bebic.

The President noted that he warmly recalls his meeting with Mr. Babic in Zagreb in the framework of his 2009 visit to Croatia and is happy to see him again.

“I am glad that during last two-three years our high-level contacts continue. They naturally facilitate our relations. Interparliamentary ties have significant role in strengthening the friendship between our countries and our nations and in enhancing our cooperation. It is also important that there are friendship groups in both our parliaments, and I am confident that reciprocal visits of our parliamentarians will be of a constant nature. Welcome to Armenia, you’re among friends and we are happy to see you here,” said President Sargsyan at the meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Croatia.

The parties stressed the importance of the visit of the President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic to Armenia later this year, which will give a new impetus to the Armenian-Croatian relations. They also concurred that visit of the Croatian businessmen to Armenia in the framework of the presidential visit and their contacts with the Armenian partners will provide a good opportunity for expanding economic cooperation and boosting the turnover. Among prospective areas of cooperation mentioned were culture, tourism infrastructure, including energy sector and some other areas.

President Serzh Sargsyan and Luka Bebic spoke also about cooperation with the EU, regional issues, Armenia-Turkey relations and the NK peace process.
