President Serzh Sargsyan received Miroslav Laychak

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received Managing Director of the European Foreign Policy Service for Russia, Eastern Neighborhood and Western Balkans Miroslav Laychak.

President Sargsyan congratulated Miroslav Laychak on his appointment as Managing Director and expressed hope that the European Foreign Policy Service, which was created based on the Lisbon Agreement, as a global player will breathe a new life into the EU common foreign policy.

“Integration, cooperation with the European Union has been a priority for Armenia since day one of our independence and gradually it’s acquiring even greater importance. We realized that it is a mutually beneficial process and reforms that are being implemented in our country and overall our vision for the future is entirely connected to that cooperation. I am glad to see you here, and I am confident that your visit will become a strong impetus for our cooperation,” the President of Armenia stressed.

According to the Managing Director of the European Foreign Policy Service for Russia, Eastern Neighborhood and Western Balkans Miroslav Laychak, EU has established the Foreign Policy Service so that the EU policy vis-à-vis each country or region reflects the Union’s needs, requirements and agenda. Miroslav Laychak expressed satisfaction with the progress registered in the area of European Neighborhood policy and with the Armenia’s determined approach and achievements in the negotiations on the Association Agreement.
