Today, President Serzh Sargsyan conducted a working visit to Gegharkunik marz.

The President of Armenia visited public beaches located on the territory of Sevan National Park, which were established by the February 25, 2011 directive of the President and are aimed at providing free and efficient recreation and leisure for the population. President Sargsyan toured the beached and familiarized with the works conducted on the territory, conversed with the members of the Miasin movement who were cleaning the beaches.

The President of Armenia conducted working meeting with those responsible for the ecological issues of Sevan. The RA Minister of Environment Protection Armen Harutyunian and the Chairman of the RA Presidential Commission on Sevan Lake Issues Vladimir Movsissian presented reports on the implementation of the works related to the protection, rehabilitation, natural development and use of the Lake and forthcoming events, and spoke about works on dismantling of real property resulting from the elevation of the water level, wood-cleaning and relocation of the infrastructure. The Vice Prime Minister of Armenia, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorkian spoke about activities conducted by the Sevan National Park Council. The President of Armenia gave new tasks related to a new time table on the cleaning of the Lake shores, dismantling and relocation of real property.

In the framework of his working visit to Gegharkunik marz, Serzh Sargsyan discussed with the Head of the region Never Poghosian issues related to the social and economic problems of Gegharkunik.
