President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units and Executive Secretary
President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Chair of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units Boudewijn Verhelst and Executive Secretary Bronwyn Somerville who have arrived to Armenia to participate at the 19th plenary session of the Egmont Group.
The President of Armenia welcomed the fact that the session of the Group is held in Yerevan, hailing activities of the Group aimed at joining together efforts of the international community to fight money laundering and terrorism financing. Serzh Sargsyan underscored that money laundering and terrorism financing recognize no borders, thus fight against them commands joined efforts. The President expressed hope that the session would be productive.
The plenary session is attended by over two hundred ninety representatives of the financial intelligence units from one hundred two member states and a number of international structures.
