President Serzh Sargsyan received the crew of the Armenia sailboat
President Serzh Sargsyan received today the crew of the Armenia sailboat which has accomplished its around-the-world voyage.
President Sargsyan expressed satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the important mission aimed at the preservation of the Armenian identity, taking stock and documentation of the pieces of the Armenian cultural heritage.
Speaking about contacts with the representatives of the Armenian communities in different parts of the world which took place during the circumnavigation, President Sargsyan said, “Enthusiasm and desire to connect, which were demonstrated by all communities during this round-the-world voyage, prove once again that this kind of work was imperative.”
The head of the expedition Zory Balayan told President Sargsyan about hardships and challenges they encountered during the trip, as well as about the achievements of the crew.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the crew handed the flag of our country and the book dedicated to the immortal fallen heroes of the Artsakh war to President Sargsyan. The crew carried the flag and the book throughout the voyage.
