President Serzh Sargsyan received today the National Hero of Armenia, world-famous chansonier Charles Aznavour. Present at the meeting were also the impresario of Aznavour Levon Sayan, French performers Jerome Revone and Stephan Gateau.
The parties talked about the recent high-level reciprocal visits of the Presidents of Armenia and France which, in their opinion, are another proof of a centuries-long Armenian-French friendship. The visits will give a new impetus to a further strengthening and development of the bilateral relations.
At the meeting, President Sargsyan handed to Levon Sayan the Order of Honor which Mr. Sayan was awarded back in 2009 for his significant contribution to the strengthening and development of the Armenian-French relations as well as for his lasting pro-Armenian activities. Jerome Revone and Stephan Gateau were awarded with Movses Khorenatsi medals. The French performs were awarded high state honors on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence for their considerable contribution to the enforcement and development of the Armenian-French cultural ties.
President Sargsyan congratulated them on receiving high state awards and used the opportunity provided by the meeting to once again thank them for their work which was highly appreciated in Armenia and resulted in receiving the RA state awards.
