Today, the newly appointed Ambassador of the United States of America John Heffern presented his credential to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President of Armenia congratulated Ambassador Heffern on his appointment and expressed hope that he would use his diplomatic experience to further deepen relations between the two countries. Serzh Sargsyan underlined that our relations with the United State constitute a strong impetus for the economic development, strengthening of democracy, and maintenance of regional stability. “We are grateful to the United States for its balanced position on the issues which are very important for us. Today, we assess our relations as unprecedented. Taking this opportunity, I would like to say words of appreciation to the former Ambassador, Mrs. Mary Yovanovich for her good work,” the President of Armenia said.

The newly appointed Ambassador thanked for genial words and in his turn stressed the importance of strengthening and developing relations between the United States and Armenia. “President Obama highly appreciates particularly Your resolve to solve regional issues, and we are determined to work with Your toward the resolution of regional issues,” Ambassador John Heffern said. The US Ambassador underscored also the necessity of reinforcing economic ties as well as works aimed at the expansion of cooperation.
