Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the founder, President and CEO of National Instruments (NI) James Truchard.

The President hailed contribution made by National Instruments Company to the development in Armenia of the high and information technologies area, also recognition back in 2007 of Armenia’s human potential and the Company’s decision to open a branch in our country. Expressing confidence that a country with a small market and small economy such as Armenia can and must become a specialized part of the developed industrial global structure, the President of Armenia noted that with this regard activities of National Instruments in Armenia fully reflect that logic.

According to Serzh Sargsyan, when in 2001 the Government of Armenia declared development of information technologies a priority area of our economy, it was done based on the assessment of the educational and scientific level present in the country, as well as existing traditions, highly professional level of the experts and Armenia’s geographical situation, limitations of the transportation routs and scare natural resources. According to the President, today the number of companies and employees engaged in the area, as well as growth registered in recent years proves once again that it was a justified decision.

Concurring with the President of Armenia and assessing the mentioned decision of the RA Government as a wise one, James Truchard noted that Armenia is a very convenient location for the implementation of National Instruments programs.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of National Instruments program of establishing modern training laboratories of regional importance at the Armenian State Engineering University (ASEU) from the viewpoint of cooperation and development of the Company’s activities in Armenia.

According to the interlocutors, the program will become a serious impetus for turning Armenia into a world-class engineering center, elevation of its ratings, at the same time making the ASEU a high-class technological university in line with the highest international standards.
