Serzh Sargsyan held a farewell meeting with the Head of the EU delegation in the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Raul De Luzenberger
Today, President Serzh Sargsyan held a farewell meeting with the Head of the EU delegation in the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Raul De Luzenberger.
President Serzh Sargsyan hailed activities of Ambassador Raul De Luzenberger in the last four years, which, according to the President, have been active and fruitful, and promoted dynamic development and efficient cooperation between Armenia and the European Union. According to the President of Armenia, it created good prerequisites for bringing the reforms currently conducted in the country to a successful end.
By the Presidential decree, the Head of the EU delegation in Armenia Raul De Luzenberger was awarded the Mkhitar Gosh medal for his significant contribution to the strengthening and development of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union. At the meeting, Serzh Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador Luzenberger, handed him the state award and expressed hope that regardless of his next assignment, he will remain our country’s friend.
Ambassador Raul De Luzenberger expressed thanks for the constant support, assistance provided during his tenure and for the recognition of his work. He noted that in recent years observable changes have taken place in Armenia, serious reforms are being conducted and said that this viewpoint prevails also at the EU. Mr. Raul De Luzenberger wished success in these reforms which, in his opinion, will further strengthen the Armenia-EU relations and deepen cooperation between them.
