President Serzh Sargsyan received today the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Victor Zubkov.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that the high level of the political dialogue between Armenia and Russia and mutual desire to strengthen strategic partnership create an excellent environment for the further development of the Armenian-Russian relations. According to the President, the turnover between the two countries increases annually, the number of the enterprises with the Russian capital is also on the rise, and humanitarian cooperation becomes more diverse.

The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that in four years that have passed after his previous visit to Armenia in 2008, the Armenian-Russian relations in every area have become even closer and warmer. These relations, according to Victor Zubkov, have strengthened also due to the reciprocal high-level visits, including the state visit of Serzh Sargsyan to the Russian Federation, which took place last October. Victor Zubkov assured that the two Governments work actively for the implementation of the tasks given by the Presidents of Armenia and Russia during these visits.

The parties stressed the importance of the works conducted by the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation. Tomorrow, the Co-Chairs of the Commission will conduct a meeting in Yerevan.

The interlocutors also noted as promising development of cooperation in the agricultural, energy and a number of other areas.
