President Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony of the Yerevan Registration and Control Department of the RA Traffic Police. The President of Armenia familiarized with the works aimed at the improvement of the Department’s activities, process of the vehicle registration and driver’s license issuance, and quality of the services provided to the customers. President Sargsyan was informed that the Yerevan Registration and Control Department comprises the Registration and Control Departments N.1, N. 2 and N. 3 which have been united to make one Department. According to the program of reformation in the Police system, the Department, which is functioning in a newly built premise and has modern facilities and a vehicle testing ground, will be available for customers starting April 3.
Serzh Sargsyan toured the new building and familiarized with the vehicle control station works, processes of registration and control of the vehicles, issuance of driver’s licenses, and observed the testing ground.
He was informed that the new, accelerated process for the registration of the vehicles and simplified issuance of driver’s licenses will cut back the extent of the entire process. Particularly, instead of 1-2 hours required currently, the process will take 30-35 minutes. As a result, lines will be curbed and the quality of the services provided to the customers will improve.
Almost 1 billion 400 million AMD in total have been invested into the mentioned program of reformation and the funds were acquired from the RA Police extrabudgetary sources.
