President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message on the accident which took place in the evening of May 4 at the Republic Square.

The message states:

“Dear Compatriots,

The accident at the Republic Square was a sad blow to all of us. Thanks God, we were saved from irreversible consequences. At this moment, all those injured are receiving necessary medical assistance and in the course of the future rehabilitation, if necessary, the best specialists from abroad will be invited to Armenia.

The law enforcement bodies have launched investigation; the culprits will be identified and brought to justice.

I urge everyone to stay calm. Let’s pray for the injured and wish them all a speedy recovery.”
