President Serzh Sargsyan received today delegation headed by the Vice Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Saparduri Toyliev.

The President of Armenia assessed the visit of the Vice Prime Minister of Turkmenistan and a session of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission held in the framework of that visit as an assertion of the mutual interest to strengthen the existing bilateral ties. Serzh Sargsyan underscored that invigoration of the political dialogue with Turkmenistan, development of trade and economic relations and expansion of humanitarian relations are in the interests of the two nations. The President reiterated Armenia’s readiness to deepen and develop these relations.

The Vice Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Saparduri Toyliev assessed the works of the Yerevan session of the intergovernmental commission as efficient where, according to Saparduri Toyliev, issues related to the long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of areas were discussed.

The interlocutors concurred that the existing level of the Armenian-Turkmen economic relations doesn’t correspond to the high-level political ties and according to them the two parties have a lot of work to do on that direction.
