On the occasion of Army Day, a group of servicemen and freedom fighters were awarded the RA high state awards

On the occasion of Army Day, a group of servicemen and freedom fighters by the decree of the President of Armenia were awarded the RA orders and medals, as well as military ranks for their significant contribution to the army-building and combat readiness of the troops, courage and personal valor in defending the Motherland.

Today, at the Presidential Palace there took place the award ceremony. President Serzh Sargsyan congratulated the servicemen and freedom fighters and handed the high state awards.

Dear Awardees,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

I congratulate you on the occasion of Army Day and conferment of the Motherland’s high awards and military ranks.

Your services are highly valued by our people. Your success is essentially similar and essentially dissimilar from the success attained by our best specialists in other areas. They are similar because they move forward step by step the state and society which are enrooted in the Armenian soil. They are dissimilar because the troops and the army have a strictly different mission, especially considering the geopolitical conditions in which we live and work. You stand at the frontline guarding our peace and security, and you carry out your mission with great professionalism and honor.

I thank you for that and for the confidence that you convey to us, our society and the entire Armenian nation through your work and stance.

I wish you and your families great health and happiness. I wish you and your comrades-in-arms new success in your dedicated service. Be assured that you have a special importance for us all.
