President Serzh Sargsyan received the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák

 

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák who has arrived to Armenia on an official visit.

The President stressed the importance of high level reciprocal visits in the strengthening and development of bilateral relations which, in his opinion, facilitate relations at all levels.

Noting that he recalls with pleasure his previous meeting with Mr. Lajčák, when the agenda of the Armenia-EU relations was discussed in the amicable atmosphere, Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that Miroslav Lajčák’s current visit to our country will also be productive and will give a new impetus to the Armenian-Slovak cooperation on the bilateral, as well as multilateral levels.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election and inauguration and conveyed to him warm greetings and well-wishes from the High Representative of EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák speaking about priorities, mentioned recently by President Serzh Sargsyan in his inaugural address, stressed their importance and wished success in the activities and reforms on a number of directions. He also assured that on these issues, as well as in the Eurointegration processes Armenia may rely on the support of Slovakia.

Along with the bilateral Armenian-Slovak relations, the parties discussed also the Armenia-EU cooperation and issues related to progress registered by Armenia in that area. The interlocutors underscored the importance of deepening cooperation in the international structures. At the meeting, discussed were also issues pertinent to the current stage of the NK peace process, regional problems and challenges.
