President received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maya Panjikidze

 

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maya Panjikidze.

Welcoming the guest, the President noted that in the last twenty years, high level relations established with the neighboring Georgia reflect the historical relations of the two friendly nations.

At the meeting, Maya Panjikidze and Edward Nalbandian presented to Serzh Sargsyan steps undertaken by the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs toward the strengthening of cooperation, as well as reported on the works of the commission for demarcation and delineation of the Armenian-Georgian state border.

President Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili for his attention toward the Armenian historical monuments in Georgia and readiness to assist in their restoration.

The parties discussed possibilities of deepening cooperation in the cultural, educational, tourism and some other areas, enforcement of economic ties and utilization in full of a great potential existing in these and other areas.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expressed gratitude for the warm reception and once again conveyed to Serzh Sargsyan congratulations and well wishes of her country’s leadership on his re-election as President of Armenia.

At the meeting, discussed were also issues pertinent to the regional developments and cooperation in the framework of the EU Eastern Partnership.
