President Serzh Sargsyan held a farewell meeting with the Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko

 

Today, President Serzh Sargsyan received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko, who is concluding his diplomatic mission in our country.

Serzh Sargsyan expressed thanks to Ambassador Kovalenko for his efforts during his tenure aimed at the development of the Armenian-Russian strategic relations. According to the President, in recent years, relations with Armenia’s allied, strategic and main trading partner Russia have been pretty efficient since relations have become stronger and cooperation in every area continues to deepen. It is proved by almost fifty meetings held between the Presidents of Armenia and Russia, numerous reciprocal visits on different levels, including two state visits as well as by the signing of a number of important documents. According to the President of Armenia, all this have elevated the bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level. Serzh Sargsyan noted that Armenia is interested in maintaining and deepening these relations which is in the interests of the two friendly states and peoples.

The Russian Ambassador expressed gratitude to President Serzh Sargsyan for the warm words and high assessment of his work. He noted that summarizing the accomplished work, he too feels certain satisfaction and is proud that has been able through his work to contribute to the development of the Armenian-Russian relations. Vyacheslav Kovalenko assured that he will remain Armenia’s friend and within the scope of his abilities will continue to bring his contribution to the strengthening of the Armenian-Russian friendship.
