President Serzh Sargsyan received the Chairman of the RF National Medical Chamber Leonid Roshal

 

President Serzh Sargsyan received today the Chairman of the National Medical Chamber of the Russian Federation, renowned pediatrician, Professor Leonid Roshal who has arrived to Armenia at the invitation of the Association of Urologists of Armenia to discuss issues related to the exchange of experience on the increased role of the civil society for the improvement of the medical services provided to the populace and development of cooperation between the Commission on Health and Social Issues of the RA Public Council and the RF National Medical Chamber.

The President of Armenia noted that here, in Armenia we are always happy to host the great friend of the Armenian people Leonid Roshal whose caring attitude toward children, outstanding personal and professional qualities our people had witnessed back in 1988 after the devastating earthquake in Spitak. Underscoring that doctor Roshal is well-known all over the world for his humanitarian and charity work, particularly regarding the medical help provided to children in emergency situations and his persistent work aimed at the development of pediatrics in general, Serzh Sargsyan stressed the importance of the renowned doctor’s visit from the viewpoint of deepening cooperation with his Armenian colleagues.

Leonid Roshal noted that he visited Armenia after the earthquake of 1988, later during the war in 1990s and after that and ever since has been maintaining close relations with his colleagues in Armenia. He said he was amazed with the tenacity, diligence, and great intellectual potential of the Armenian people, who live and create in a tough geopolitical situation.

Underscoring that current problems in the health care systems of Armenia and Russia are almost identical, the Chairman of the RF National Medical Chamber shared with the President of Armenia his views on the prospects of development of the health care area.
