President Serzh Sargsyan received delegation of the Prosecutors General of foreign states

 

President Serzh Sargsyan received today a delegation of the Prosecutors General of a number of European and CIS states who have arrived to Armenia on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the RA Prosecutor’s Service. In Yerevan, they also participate at the events dedicated to the professional holiday of the RA Prosecutor’s Office.

The President of Armenia welcomed the guests in our country and stressed the importance of their visit from the viewpoint of experience exchange, discussion of the challenges and threats existing in different countries and finding efficient ways to thwart them and to the preservation of the rule of law, legal order and stability.

Noting that in the 21st century, no country of the world is able to conduct singlehandedly an efficient fight against organized crime, Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to all countries which are cooperating closely and provide legal assistance to Armenia.

At the meeting, the President of Armenia awarded the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Yuri Chaika with the Order of Honor for his remarkable contribution to the Armenian-Russian cooperation in the area of justice. The President congratulated Yuri Chaika on receiving the high RA state award and wished him as well as the other participants of the meeting success in their important work.

The Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation thanked President Serzh Sargsyan for the award and high assessment of his work. He said that it was emblematic that the award ceremony was taking place during the celebration of the 95th anniversary of the RA Prosecutor Service. According to Y. Chaika, employees of the Prosecutor’s Offices of Armenia and Russia are indeed proud of the glorious pages and victories in their common history. He noted with satisfaction that the Prosecutor’s Offices of the RA and RF have formed relations which can be truly called a strategic partnership. The Prosecutor General of Russia stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation, as well as cooperation of the Prosecutor Generals at the Coordinating Council of the CIS member states and efficient work in the framework of the International Association of Prosecutors.
