The President met with the members of the delegations who have arrived to Armenia for an informal dialogue in the framework of the Eastern Partnership

 

President Serzh Sargsyan met today with the delegation of the participants of the informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Eastern Partnership member states, comprising Deputy Secretary General of the EU Foreign Relations Service Helga Schmid, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Natalia Gherman, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei, Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Georgia Alex Petriashvili, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Olefirov.

The participants of the meeting spoke with President Serzh Sargsyan about their impressions of the informal meetings in Yerevan and agreements reached as a result of an open and sincere dialogue.

They underscored that discussions held in Yerevan on the eve of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius have been extremely important and necessary for all participating parties. The participants assured that they held rather productive discussions on multiple agenda items, including the possibility to make the most of the cooperation in the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

The interlocutors concurred that along with distinctions intrinsic to each member state, the members of the Eastern Partnership also have numerous similarities which can serve a base for the successful development of cooperation.

President Serzh Sargsyan underscored that Armenia desires to continue to be a member of the Eastern Partnership and will strengthen relations with the member states in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Later, the participants of the meeting with the President of Armenia and the Ministers of Education who are in Armenia for an informal dialogue in the framework of the Eastern Partnership had an official dinner at the Presidential Palace.
