An award ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Armenian Independence

 

On the occasion of the 22nd Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan signed decrees to award a group of representatives from the areas of science, education, health, economy, arts and culture, representative from Spyurk, servicemen from the armed forces and law enforcement bodies with high state awards, bestowing also honorary and military highest awards.

Today, during the official award ceremony at the Presidential Palace, President Serzh Sargsyan handed awards to the distinguished and successful individuals, congratulated and wished them all the best.

President Serzh Sargsyan’s remarks at the award ceremony held on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of Independence

 

Dear Friends,

I congratulate us all on the occasion of Independence Day. Each of us individually and we collectively are strong with our independent statehood, while the state itself is strong with persons like you, who through their work and service are providing a strong momentum to state structures and our society. Moreover, state is the people and first of all, able people. The more you can do in your areas, the stronger we will be as an entity and as a state.

I congratulate you on receiving high state awards. Certainly, it is gratifying however this reality is not making your job easier: On the contrary, you are assuming a greater responsibility. You’ve become exemplary, worthy persons whose services to the state and people are significant.

I believe in the persons of the awardees in this hall are represented almost all strata of our society. It once again proves that we have devotees in every area, people who have a clear-cut civil position and great professional skills.

Dear Friends,

This is a very pleasant duty for me because it is also an opportunity to meet and on behalf of the people of Armenia to honor those who have earned that honor. I wish that diligent work and impressive achievements of our every citizen are noticed and recognized and not remain in shadows.

I once again cordially congratulate you all.
