The newly appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to Armenia presented his credentials to Serzh Sargsyan

 

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay to Armenia Hanibal Capral presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission in our country and expressed hope that his tenure will give a new impetus to the development of the existing friendly relations between the two countries. Serzh Sargsyan noted that since Armenia’s independence, relations between Armenia and Uruguay have been developing in the spirit of friendship which is manifested by the mutual readiness to cooperate in different areas and special attention towards each other’s problems.

Underscoring that Uruguay is a friendly state for Armenia, the President noted that the Armenian people will never forget that back in 1965, Uruguay was the first country in the world which recognized the Armenian Genocide, thus assuming the position of justice defender and winning boundless admiration and respect not only of the entire Armenian nation, but of the progressive humankind.

Ambassador Hanibal Capral noted that Uruguay is deeply respectful towards Armenia and the Armenian nation is interested in the expansion of cooperation in different areas and deepening of bilateral relations.
