President Serzh Sargsyan’s working visit to Nagorno-Karabakh Republic

 

On the margins of his working visit to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, early today Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited Metaxkombinat Ltd in Stepanakert in the company of NKR President Bako Sahakyan to get introduced to the company’s ongoing activities and development programs.

The two presidents next called at the newly commissioned clothing factory launched by Great Partnership Co., a subsidiary of Sarti Italian firm. The factory is expected to make available over 50 jobs.

Later today Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan traveled to Chapar village community in Martakert region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic to attend the opening of the new school building. Chapar’s former school, which in the early 1990s was badly damaged during military operations and used to be partly operational following reconstruction, has been substituted with a completely new two-storey building that will host more students as compared to last year. Designed for a total of 84 children, the school will be attended by 53 children this year.

The presidents of Armenia and Artsakh laid flowers at the memorial to freedom-fighters in Chapar. Yesterday, the presidents visited Taghavard village in Martuni region, to inspect the operations of the local vegetable oil factory.

Today, the President of Armenia attended the opening of a geological museum in Shushi and, later in the evening, he watched the premiere of Avet Terteryan’s “Ring of Fire” opera, dedicated to Artsakh’s Independence Day and famous composer Avet Terteryan’s 85th birthday anniversary.
