President Serzh Sargsyan to leave for United Kingdom on working visit

President Serzh Sargsyan will pay a working visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

On September 4, the President of the Republic of Armenia will attend a meeting of heads of State and government of NATO-member States and nations involved in International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan / ISAF / in Newport on the margins of the upcoming NATO summit. The President will deliver a speech at the meeting.

The concluding gathering to be held in a NATO-International Security Assistance Forces format will sum up the results of ISAF’s Afghanistan mission and will outline the areas and objectives of the new Resolute Support mission.

By joining the above international mission in 2010 and contributing with a 126-member-strong contingent, Armenia propped up the common effort of the international community toward bringing security and nationwide reconciliation to Afghanistan. Our country is committed to continued participation in the new mission.

Late on September 4, the meeting participants will be received by His Royal Highness Prince Charles of Wales, followed by an informal dinner in honor of the heads of participating States and international organizations.
