President receives CSTO Secretary-General and Head of RF Federal Migration Service

 

President Serzh Sargsyan today received Nikolay Bordyuzha, Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and Konstantin Romodanovsky, Head of the RF Federal Migration Service, who had arrived in Armenia to take part in the session of the Coordination Council on the Fight against Illegal Migration of CSTO member states’ authorized bodies.

The President welcomed the fact that the session is being held in Yerevan, attached great importance to jointly discussing the agenda items and taking effective measures to fight illegal migration.

The guests presented the results of the Yerevan session, noting that the agenda had been very busy and that the issues under discussion had also included the opportunities of dealing with the mentioned issues in a new situation, namely after Armenia’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.

The RA President and the CSTO Secretary-General also discussed the implementation process of the agreements made during the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council which was held in Moscow in October 2014. At the meeting, Nikolay Bordyuzha reported to the Armenian President on the current activities of the organization, the works being carried out within the frame of the cooperation, the preparatory works of the upcoming sessions of CSTO statutory bodies, as well as on the maintenance of security in the organization’s Caucasian Collective Security Region.
