President Sarkissian visited military strongholds of the RA Armed Forces

President Armen Sarkissian visited today military strongholds of the RA Armed Forces, including the “Monte” combat unit whose location is important to ensure defense on the Nakhichevan direction. Accompanied by the Acting Minister of Defense David Tonoyan, President Sarkissian observed the change of combat duty shifts.

The President also familiarized with the social conditions of the servicemen and congratulated them on the approaching holidays. “I am honored today to be here on the eve of New Year, to be with our troops. It’s an honor because you give us confidence and peace of mind which are necessary; our country is heading forward and will be heading more confidently, and great changes can happen in the country. All these would not be possible unless you stand strong on our borders. I, as the President of Armenia, as an ordinary citizen am confident that the future of our country is in strong hands.

The life of each Armenian soldier is precious to us, as precious as the Fatherland itself. Thus, stay strong, guard our borders, and most importantly, safeguard each other, guys,” President said to the troops.

A group of soldiers on combat duty were awarded special Presidential hand watches for their diligent and dedicated service.
