President Sarkissian hosted the Vice President and regional Director of THALES company Paul Remi: We are confident that we are innovative

President Armen Sarkissian hosted today the Vice President of the world famous French THALES company, regional Director Paul Remi who has arrived to Armenia at the invitation of the President of Armenia.

President Sarkissian noted that during his previous meetings with the leadership of THALES, the parties discussed opportunities and probable areas of cooperation.
“We need to find out what we can do together. It should be a wide spectrum,” the President of Armenia said and added, “Armenia has the advantage as we are confident that we are innovative. It is proved by the fact that there are many startups, the startup culture is developing. Second, currently, after the changes, Armenia has become a younger country. People are exited and are trying to find solutions. We have an exceptionally high level of education. There are the American University of Armenia, the Armenian-Russian University, French University, as well as the European University. This is undoubtedly an advantage. Third, we represent a unique market which includes countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, and Armenia has close relations with them. One should also consider the existence of the large Armenian community in Russia. We are also a member to the Eurasian Economic Union which is a huge market.”

Paul Remi thanked the President of Armenia for the invitation and said in particular, “THALES is a leading European and French technological company. We should also remember about the Central Asia market. We see that you are at the crossroads between Europe and Asia. Armenia is involved in the One Road, One Belt project which is in the focus of our attention. The proposals you have made are very good and inspire confidence since, as you said, large numbers of Armenians are living in Russia and have successfully integrated in that country. I am glad that you offered opportunities for cooperation with Armenia. We have not looked into such opportunities in the past.”

President Sarkissian expressed confidence that Paul Remi would use his time in Armenia to explore our country, to visit different companies, and educational institutions. “All it will give you a general picture and a chance to program what can be done.”
