President gave a reception in honor of the participants of the Armenian Summit of Minds: I hope we’ll start to work for the Armenian Summit of Minds 2020

In the evening of June 9, President Armen Sarkissian gave an official reception at the Presidential Palace in honor of the participants and guests of the Armenian Summit of Minds.

Addressing the audience, President Sarkissian said:

“It is an honor for me to greet you here, in the Republic of Armenia, at the Presidential Palace. This is the last day of the Armenian Summit of Minds 2019. I hope, Thierry, that we will start to work for the first day of the Armenian Summit of Minds 2020. In fact, these have been three wonderful days which we have spent together. As I said in the morning, the most important aspect for the Armenian Summit of Minds or any other international conference is to learn new things. I have really learned a lot in these three days. I’ve learned from you that we are not perfect yet, that the world has many problems coming from the nature, climate, geopolitics, internal politics, from culture or misunderstanding, lack of tolerance, etc. But I am still optimistic because when we come together in the framework of the events such as this one, especially with the Summit of Minds, all that inspires with hope that we can build our ark, the Summit of Minds Ark, of the human mind which will unite and regulate all the problems which we face today; we will be able to understand how to deal with our planet, how to prepare our children for the future and how to make the world a better place for the next generations.

It is important that here, in Armenia, when speaking of the problems of the world or those of other regions, about geopolitics, economic problems or a dialogue of civilizations, we each time draw parallels between them and our internal problems. In a certain way, we are rediscovering Armenia from your – our friends - point of view, that of the world, our partners. And it is very interesting because the Armenia I’ve rediscovered is magnificent.

It is very nice to host you all here this year. I expect to see you all also next year; it is going to be a very interesting summit for a number of reasons. Now we know what we need to talk about, while the three questions remain the same – where are we, what to do, and how to do it?

Today I know a little more than I knew three days ago. But I still don’t know what is going on. You will help us all to find the right answers for these three questions. Thank you very much.

This is not the end; this is the beginning.”
