President Sarkissian’s visit to UAE yields first practical results: Armenia-UAE investment program in the area of renewable energy
President Armen Sarkissian received today the leadership of the Masdar company from Abu Dhabi headed by the CEO Mohammed Jamil al Ramahi.
In the framework of his visit to the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, President Sarkissian visited also the Masdar company in Abu Dhabi and Masdar City innovative city, discussed and reached an agreement on possible cooperation.
First steps on that direction are being taken today.
The President welcomed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Masdar and the Armenian State Interests Fund on cooperation in the area of renewable energy. “I am very glad that today one of the most important scientific and industrial establishments of the UAE Masdar signed in Armenia an important document which signals a decision to make a major investment in the area of renewable energy,” the President noted. “ This is an interesting program on which we can build even more, engaging along with Armenian and UAE sides others too, from Europe, East, and South. I believe our visit to the Emirates is yielding results, and this is the beginning.”
The President expressed confidence that there would be other programs too, even bigger, since areas, which he had discussed with the leadership of UAE and reached preliminary agreement of cooperation on, were quite a few- from food security to artificial intelligence, real estate snd others.
Chief Executive of the Masdar company Mohammad Jamil al Ramah said that the visit of President Sarkissian to UAE was beneficial for both countries, and that the agreements reached during the visit were becoming a reality, and the signing of the memorandum of understanding was the first step. He expressed confidence that each small success would bring new success.
