“Our souls will forever stay here, in Armenia”: The farewell ceremony for the President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos took place at the Presidential Palace
The farewell ceremony for the President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who was in Armenia on official visit, took place today at the Presidential Palace.
During a brief meeting, the Presidents recapped the results of the visit and underscored the high level of the Armenian-Greek relations.
“I believe that in just one day, we made some small but important steps. Those are steps in the right direction; soon, much more important decisions will be taken as well as avenues for cooperation between Armenia and Greece, Armenian and Greek peoples, and our diasporas will be cleared,” President Armen Sarkissian noted. He underscored that Greece is one of Armenia’s best friends, and the two nations have a road to travel together. Armen Sarkissian invited his Greek counterpart to visit Armenia again with his family.
President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos thanked his colleague for the warm welcome and hospitality. “Our souls will forever stay here, in Armenia. Friendship of our peoples is many years long and thanks to you that friendship has a great future. There is no doubt that our countries face big challenges but we have many friends, many allies and must do everything to make that friendship eternal,” he said.
The meeting was followed by the official farewell ceremony for the President of Greece.
