President Armen Sarkissian participated at the farewell ceremony of the legendary intelligence agent Gohar Vardanian

President Armen Sarkissian participated today in Moscow at the farewell ceremony of the legendary intelligence agent Gohar Vardanian.

President Sarkissian made farewell remarks. He highly praised Gohar Vardanian’s and her husband, the Hero of USSR and intelligence legend Gevork Vardanian’s work and accomplishments.

The President said that the life of the legendary agents, which due to objective reasons was not public, was a beautiful and heroic story, full of real episodes which often seemed unreal. President Sarkissian spoke also of the impressions attained during his personal contacts with Gohar and Gevork Vardanians. Armen Sarkissian knew them for a long time, they had cordial relations.

The legendary intelligence agent Gohar Vardanian was buried at the Troekurovo cemetery in Moscow with military honors, in attendance of honor guard.
