At the invitation of the President of Israel Reuven Rivlin President Sarkissian will participate at the World Holocaust Forum

At the invitation of the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin, President Armen Sarkissian on January 22 will leave for Israel to participate at the Fifth World Holocaust Forum.

The Forum, which is titled “Remembering the Holocaust, Fighting Antisemitism” will be held in Yad Vashem, at the memorial dedicated to the victims of the Holocaust. It commemorates the 75th anniversary of liberation the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp and reconfirms the message that there is no place for antisemitism in the contemporary world.

Leaders from over 40 countries, including Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Finland, Portugal, Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia, Iceland will gather at Yad Vashem, in the international center dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust, as well high-ranking officials from other countries.

The Heads of state will lay wreaths at the memorial dedicated to the Warsaw ghetto uprising which is authored by the world-famous Jewish sculptor and artist Nathan Rapoport.

The Forum is being held under the high auspices of the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin, and is organized by the World Holocaust Forum Foundation under the leadership of the scholar and benefactor Moshe Kantor in cooperation with Yad Vashem.

In Jerusalem, the President of Armenia will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the states, participating to the Forum.

President Armen Sarkissian will also meet with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin, Speaker of Knesset Yuli Edelstein, other officials, and will visit the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The President of Armenia will also visit scientific and educational establishments of Israel.
