The holy land of Jerusalem can become a bridge through which the visitors will learn about Armenia and Armenian spiritual heritage: President Sarkissian and Mrs. Sarkissian visited the Church of the Holy Sepulcher

President Armen Sarkissian and Mrs. Nouneh Sarkissian visited one of the most cherished and prominent holy place in Jerusalem and entire Christian world the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. It is built on the tomb of Jesus Christ, Golgotha crucifixion site, the Feast of the Cross cave and some other holy places. The tomb of Christ is under the dome of the Holy Sepulcher Church. The control of the Church itself is shared by the Armenia, Greek, and Catholic churches.

The President of Armenia and Mrs. Sarkissian were greeted by the Grand Sacristan of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, His Eminence Ter Sevan Archbishop Gharibian and representatives of the Armenian clergy.

The President of Armenia and Mrs. Sarkissian toured the Church, visited the holy places, lit candles and prayed. Later, they conversed with spiritual fathers. At the meeting with the Armenian clergy. President Sarkissian said that the Armenian nation has enormous cultural and spiritual heritage on this land and there is a need to exhibit it in a better way to the visitors of Jerusalem and the world in general. According to the President, this holy land and holy place can become a bridge through which the visitors of this sites and Jerusalem learn about Armenia, great Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage and values.
