Newly appointed Ambassador of Iran presented his credentials to President Armen Sarkissian: good neighbors, supporting each other at difficult times

The newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri presented today his credentials to the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.

The President congratulated Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri on assuming his responsible position and expressed hope that the newly appointed Ambassador would contribute actively to the deepening and strengthening of the historically friendly relations of the two countries.

Speaking about the centuries-long very close and cordial relations between Armenia and Iran, President Sarkissian said that the two countries have always been good neighbors, supporting each other at difficult times.

President Sarkissian recalled warmly his meeting in Yerevan with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani, which took place some months ago, and referred to the discussed issues.

The parties exchanged views on the agenda of the Armenian-Iranian relations and opportunities of expanding cooperation in different areas.

The Ambassador of Iran said that he would do his best to further develop and expand cooperation of the two friendly states.
