Presidential Concert Series: Russian romance night at the Presidential Palace dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory

In the framework of the Presidential Concert Series initiated by the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, tonight the Russian romance event was held at the Presidential Palace dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The 75th anniversary of the Great Victory is an all-human jubilee indeed. All nations of the former Soviet Union made a significant contribution to that victory: over 600,000 sons of our nation fought in the Great Patriotic War, over 300,000 of them put their lives on the altar of victory.

The event was organized jointly by the Presidential Administration and the cultural and business center of Moscow House in Yerevan. The event was attended by the members of the National Assembly, Ambassadors of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan in Armenia, art workers, servicemen of the RA Armed forces, military from the Russian Armed Forces deployed in Armenia and border troops.

It was noted that the event was a special musical tribute to those who created victory on the battlefield with love in their hearts and song on their lips, as well as to those who were living and working in the rear, who continued to love, to hope, and to wait…and sang nevertheless. It is a tribute to our ancestors who were killed in the WWII and a token of appreciation to the veterans who not only keep bright the memories of the victory but are also a living history lesson to all of us with their experience and biography.

The host of the event was the RF Distinguished Art Worker, RF Distinguished Artist, founder of the Romansiada international contest of the Russian romance Galina Preobrazhenskaya. Romances were performed by the famous artists from Russia Sergei Ababkin, Natalia Manulik, Dmitri Zuev, and Alla Petrova.
