Vazgen Sargsyan would be 61 today: President Sarkissian paid tribute to his memory at the Erablur pantheon

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Armenia’s National Hero, Hero of Artsakh, the first Minister of Defense of Armenia Vazgen Sargsyan, President Armen Sarkissian visited today the Erablur military pantheon and laid flowers at the tomb of Vazgen Sargsyan and paid tribute to his memory.

In the conversation with journalists President Sarkissian said in particular that he had come to the Erablur on the occasion of his friend’s birth anniversary. He recalled a small episode on how years ago Vazgen Sargsyan’s birthday was celebrated. “Seventeen or eighteen years back, we celebrated birthdays of Vazgen and my younger son together. Vazgen-like, in Vazgenian spirit we had a great feast.”

At the pantheon, President Sarkissian laid flowers also at the tomb of Zoravar Andranik and at the memorial wall built to commemorate the eternal memory of the sons of the Armenian nations who gave their lives for freedom of our Fatherland.
