Video conference between Armenian and Israeli experts on containing the coronavirus: President spoke on the phone with Israel’s Coordinator on COVID-19 related issues

According to the agreement reached during President Armen Sarkissian’s phone conversation with the President of the State of Israel Reuven Rivlin on March 22, President Sarkissian spoke today on the phone with Israel’s Coordinator on COVID-19 related issues Dr. Asher Salmon.

Dr. Salmon presented in detail all steps undertaken by Israel to stop the spread of the virus. During the conversation discussed were also possibilities of Israel’s assistance to Armenia, identified were Armenia’s needs.

President Sarkissian and Dr. Salmon agreed that a video conference would be held soon between the experts of Armenia and Israel to define concrete areas of future cooperation and to make practical steps.

During the conversation, President Sarkissian spoke also about the steps aimed at the development of medical engineering in Armenia and opportunities of cooperation with Israel in this area. Israel has modern medicine and an advance healthcare system which could be instructive for Armenia.

Days before, after the conversation of the Presidents of Armenia and Israel, at the initiative of President Sarkissian, the RA Minister of Health Arsen Torossian spoke on the phone with Israel’s Coordinator on COVID-19 related issues Dr. Asher Salmon.

They presented the experience of the two countries in fighting the coronavirus and agreed to continue contacts at the level of experts. Israel’s experience of fighting the coronavirus can be useful for Armenia.
