Opportunities for cooperation in the fight against the outbreak of the coronavirus: President Sarkissian had a conversation with the Co-Chair of the David Geffen Medical Center at the University of California (UCLA) Dr. Eric Esrailian

President Armen Sarkissian continues a series of consultations with international partners, Armenian and foreign experts and scientists related to the containment and treatment of the new coronavirus. Today, the President had a phone conversation with the renowned Armenian-American physician, Co-Chair of the David Geffen Medical Center at the University of California (UCLA) Dr. Eric Esrailian.

Dr. Eric Esrailian is also an active public figure, a member of the Central Board of Directors of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU), and the producer of Promise, a Hollywood production about the Armenian Genocide.

President Sarkissian and Dr. Esrailian discussed issues related to the new coronavirus pandemic and opportunities of cooperation to fighting it in Armenia. President Sarkissian stressed the importance of combining efforts, exchanging information and mutual assistance. With this regard, they spoke also about the efficient use of the opportunities provided by the charity programs in Armenia and Spyurk.

Dr. Eric Esrailian informed that in March 2020, by one of the new projects of The Promise Armenian Institute at the UCLA, headed by the professor Alina Dorian, cooperation was established between the School of Public Health of the UCLA and RA Ministry of Health. Professor Dorian’s team comprises specialists from the University of California and other reputable establishments which through the efforts of The Promise Armenian Institute assist Armenia in developing a strategy on public health.
